El año de Liga Deportiva Universitaria ha sido una mezcla de orgullo y advertencia. Orgullo, porque el equipo de Tiago Nunes hizo una Copa Libertadores extraordinaria, llegando más lejos de lo que muchos esperaban; y advertencia, porque el rendimiento en la LigaPro no terminó de convencer: correcto, sí, pero no brillante.
Es momento de hacer un primer balance y mirar hacia el 2026.
Hay una base sólida que no se puede tocar: Domínguez, Adé, Quiñónez, Choclo Quintero, Gruezo, Villamil y Ramírez. Son siete nombres que han sostenido el proyecto en los momentos duros y que deben seguir siendo el eje del equipo. A ellos se podrían sumar Alzugaray y Cornejo, que aunque irregulares, han mostrado chispazos importantes.
El resto, sin embargo, ha estado por debajo de las expectativas. Los Mina, Cuero, Minda, Pastrán, Medina o Allala no han marcado una diferencia real. Si se van, difícilmente el equipo se resentiría. En cuanto a los extranjeros, solo Adé, Villamil y Cornejo parecen indispensables. El resto, nombres que no pesaron lo suficiente en el año.
